I don't know about you, but I find clothes shopping a chore. The crowds, the small dressing rooms, the less than helpful sales associates all make the task of finding a dress for that special night on the town just that much harder. Throw in being over a size two and that task can seem impossible.
Let's face it, living large in a small world can make each day a bit of a trial. The looks, the whispers, the laughter can make a person just want to stay home. Well I say, to heck with them! It's time to come out of the closet and hit the town. Finding something to wear for the that special night, special occasion, or just a night out with the girls.
We all want to look our best and formal wear can bring out the best or the worst in us. There are some things you want to remember when buying that special dress:
Flaunt what you've got.
Hide what you don't.
Decide which part of your body you want to show off to the best advantage.
Don't be afraid of color.
Have fun!
Regardless of your size or shape everyone, and I mean everyone, has good features - parts of their selves that they like and want to show off. Maybe you have a nice bust line. If so, consider a deep v-neck. Maybe you have killer legs. A slit up the side of a long skirt can do wonders. Heck maybe you have a nice bust line and nice legs - show them both off and turn up the heat with a wow factor.
We're also going to have a part of our body that we want to cover up or move the eyes away from. If your tummy is a bit round select a dress with a little spandex in the waist area to help. Legs not what they could be? Keep their eyes above the waist with a sweetheart neckline and a bit of cleavage.
Too many woman with a few extra pounds fear color. While a little black dress can be a girl's best friend, color brings passion and excitement to your life. Stop hiding and show yourself off. Sizzle in red, pop in pink, or be gorgeous in green. Make heads turn and leave the dark shadows behind.
What it all comes down to, is forget what others might think. Honestly most of them are too busy thinking about themselves to give you much thought one way or the other. So...have fun...live your life...find yourself the perfect little cocktail dress and paint the town whatever color you choose.
